[Dear Editor,]
I am seeking information of my father's mother. My father, George Thompson Swaim was the youngest of twelve children born to Lewis and Martha Thompson Swaim on April 2, 1886. one account lists his birth at Hilton, Floyd County, Virginia. Another account lists him born at Willis, Floyd County, Virginia. George Swaim's mother Martha Jane Thompson was the daughter of John Thompson and Sara Vass Thompson. Martha Jane Thompson Swaim was born May 8, 1840. Lewis Swaim was born April 11, 1835. Both are buried in Newbern, Virginia where they resided at the time of their death.

That is the scant information I have regarding Martha Jane Thompson Swaim. She and Lewis Swaim were married in Hillsville, Virginia around 1860. I am sure that Martha Jane had siblings but I have no way of ascertaining who or where. I understand that Lewis Swaim taught school in Hillsville, Virginia.

Any information at all would be gratefully appreciated.

[Dear Editor,]
I need to find out about a Tom or Thomas Martin and what kin he was to John William Kasey (born January 1, 1866). He married Cornelia Ann Turner (born September 17, 1872) in Patrick County, Virginia in 1888. They lived at Nettle Ridge in Patrick County, Virginia.

I would like any information on John William, called Billy. He was my grandfather and died when I was young.

Thank you,
