I am looking for descendants and related families of the following:

1. Stephen B. CHANEY (b. Feb. 1826 & d. before 1910) who m. Margaret Elizabeth W. FRANKLIN (b. 9 Oct. 1828 and d. 27 Jan 1920). They last lived and died at Dodson, Smith River area, Patrick County, VA. Known children: Sarah Elizabeth "Betsy" (never married); James C.; Lucinda M. (m. Jesse BRYANT); Mary Frances (m. George W. MASSEY); Mariah (m. G. W. VIA); Abram Dudley (m. Nancy Henrietta PARKER); Judith A.; Julia Ann (m. Frances M. JANNEY [are Judith and Julia one and the same or different children?]); Jefferson Davis (m. Amanda Elizabeth FOSTER and moved to Eden, NC) ; Adaline (died in infancy); William (died in infancy); Nancy J. (m. Jehu SOWDER); Martha Ellen (m. John SOWDER and moved to W.VA.); Susan E. (m. Samuel ATKINS) and Stephen J. T. "Pete" (m. 1st Nancy Jane "Nannie" HALE (my great grand parents] and 2nd Bettie J. VIA) . Will share research information. Am looking for family Bible records that will tell who Stephen B. Chaney's parents are, where Margaret Elizabeth W. Franklin's parents married and also family photos. I know Stephen had a brother, William, and also held land with an Alexander Chaney. I know Elizabeth had a brother, Demarcus or Marcus D. Franklin and her parents were William and Elizabeth Franklin.

2. Francis HALE (b. ca 1780/82 in NC and d. after 1860 census) m. Nancy LEFFEW (b. about Sept. 1822 and d. ca 1905). Francis quite a bit older than Nancy when married and we believe he may have been married twice before to Sarah PICKETT and Priscilla LAMB. Children of Francis and Nancy: Thomas P. [Polk?] (m. Anna Eula HUNDLEY (Anna's father is Josiah Hundley and believe her mother to be Martha PEAY) (Thomas and Anna are my great-great-grandparents) ; Jehu; Frances P. "Puss" (m. James A. JANNEY) ; James; William J; Burwell I.; Louisa A. (m. Robert DAVIS) ; Samuel H. (believed to have possibly married 1st Louisa HODGE, daughter of Peter and Harriet Hodge at Stokes Co., NC and maybe 2nd Missouri A. JONES, daughter of James M. and Mary Jones of Franklin Co., VA). ALSO, known children of Josiah and Martha "Miss Pea" Hundley William, John Joseph, Anna Eula, George and James. Believe the first three children may be Josiah's by another wife. Again, am looking for parents of Francis Hale, Nancy Leffew, Josiah Hundley and definite identification of Martha Hundley by way of family Bibles or official documents and also photographs.

3. Does anyone have any record books kept by J. T. BRYANT, Caney VIA, S.T. JAMES or J.J. WRIGHT, all who may have acted as undertakers for the Dodson or Smith River area of Patrick County, Virginia - near the Franklin County line. I would like to see and possibly be able to make copies of these records.

Amogen Virginia Vaught married Carl Lee Ward from West Virginia.

Amogen's father was Trogen Vaught from the Spruce Run area in Newport, Virginia in Giles County.

I will welcome any information on this family and will correspond with anyone who has information on them. Thank you.
