New River Community Action in Floyd County is sponsoring an Easter Festival on April 14, 1984 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival is for non-profit organizations who want to raise money for their clubs or organizations. This will be our first year of having an Easter Festival at the NRCA Center (Highway 221, Floyd, Va.) and we would like to invite everyone to come out and enjoy the fun.
There will be many things going on at the festival, many clubs and organizations will have tables et up to sell various items from Easter baskets, candy, cakes, pies, crafts, yard sales, rummage sales, drinks, and many other things. There will also be a quilt raffled off.
Some of the activities planned will be a jelly bean guessing contest, an Easter bonnet parade and contest for the best bonnets. Billy Bob Bear from Show Biz Pizza Place in Roanoke will be there with his own bonnet. There will be an auction later in the day for those who donate their bonnets to be sold. Of course, there will be an Easter egg hunt for children with prizes.
Music throughout the day will be provided by the Skyliners, Corn Cutters, and the RSVP Choir.
The NCRA is limited on parking space so Pannill Knitting kindly gave permission to use their parking lot. There will be a van service from this parking lot to the center. There is no admission fee, just lots of fun for everyone. Come join us. For more information call Donna Slusher at (540) 745-4969.
