After many years of laying dormant, the old Circle M Zoo property is coming alive again with activity. It is scheduled to be open to the public May 1, 1983 by Eric Mogensen, Alicia and Mika Nurmikko. All three have experience with wild animals and are making this into the Blue Ridge Zoological Park. Their primary concern is breeding rare and endangered species. They all three worked at Benson’s Animal Park in Nashua, New Hampshire. They will have a large petting zoo and educational demonstrations for school groups as well as lions, tigers, bears, antelopes and monkeys.
