Start a new tradition this year, start a Christmas diary. Buy a notebook (or hard bound books with blank pages can be bought at book stores) and set it aside for Christmas morning. Then bring it out, record the year, and have every member of the family write something in it, from Grandpa to the smallest child. If you have children too young to write, ask them what they would like to say and you write it down.
Store the book away with the Christmas ornaments after Christmas is past and get it out again next year. Through the years, it will become a real treasure. As the years pass, members will come and members will go. There will be good years and probably lean years but you will be able to look back on them all through each member of the family’s eyes and their own handwriting.
