Mountain Memories and more . . .

The Mountain Laurel and people from all over the
country mourn the loss of Miss Addie Wood, of Mayberry Trading Post
on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Meadows of Dan, Virginia. |
She lived to the grand old age of 102 and died June 1,
2004. She was a wonderful, one-of-a-kind person and will be missed by all
who knew her. Read the story, Mayberry
Wood, by Bob Heafner, published in The Mountain Laurel in 1983.
