My mother was Louisa Etta (Marshall) Poore, daughter of William Jefferson and Cary Ann (Mabry) Marshall. The family lived near Laurel Fork in Carroll County and she was the youngest of their 6 children, born April 15, 1899. She died in Mt. Airy, NC in 1939. Her 3 sisters were Belle, Cora and Susan. Etta and Cora attended Normal School (I believe in Galax) and both taught school at least two to four terms. I'd sure like to find out more about that Normal School and any schools they, especially Etta, taught at. I have many old photographs that I would like for someone to help me identify the people in. All of the photos are from the Carroll Co. area and taken in the 19-teens.

I am searching for info on the descendants of Edmond and Nancy Nowlin (Nowling) Fulcher, married Oct. 2, 1826 in Patrick Co., VA. I do not have either of their parents names. One of their 8 children was my paternal g-grandfather, Albert R. Fulcher, born Jan 6, 1841. He married Ruth Elizabeth Shelton in 1866, daughter of Thomas & Martha Critz Shelton. Their son, John Rucker. Fulcher, born 1881 in Patrick was my paternal grandfather.

I am also looking for info on my mother's family. She was Virginia Lee Lawrence Fulcher, the daughter of Tom (Thomas) and Ida Lepu Lawrence. I have been told Tom Lawrence was the son of Lee and Elizabeth (Betty) Lawrence. He was from around Saltville, VA. She may have been the daughter of Jim and Matilda Lefew. Her brother was Chester Lefew.

Need information on William Martin and Martha A. of Patrick Co., around 1850. Their daughter was Elvira Susan Martin born 1849.

Also need information on Wm. Burwell Robinson's parents. He married Martha Jane Glover in Bedford Co. 1841 and came to Montgomery Co in 1845.

Need info on Pierce Mennis Robinson who married Josephretta Huffman in Montgomery Co. 1866 and his daughter, Florence who married Mac Corvin in Roanoke in 1933.

Need info on Lorenzo Dow Robinson who married Jane Ann Hill in Botetourt Co. 1844. He lived in Christiansburg and died there around 1940. His daughter was Myrtle Willie Robinson.
