Miss Addie Wood, proprietor of Mayberry Trading Post will be celebrating her 90th birthday on November 25, 1991.

In 1992, Mayberry Trading Post, on the Blue Ridge Parkway (milepost 181-182) near Meadows of Dan, Virginia, will be 100 years old.

According to Miss Addie she's gaining on it.

Mayberry Trading Post as seen from "up the road." This "new store" was built in 1892 to replace "the old store." Once the hub of the thriving community of Mayberry, Virginia, and just up the mountain from Mount Airy, North Carolina, home of Andy Griffith, it is said to be the inspiration for the name of the fictitious TV community of Mayberry RFD.
