Holiday Meal

By Pearl Kell © 1986

Issue: November, 1986

There's nothing as nice in this world
As the sound of a family affair.
"Please pass the rolls down this way,"
Is said immediately after the prayer.

"Anybody want more of this dressing?"
Is the question I've always heard.
"I'll have more carrots and peas
And another helping of the bird."

After the meal has been eaten
And we sit around in good cheer,
We look at each other with love
And hope to repeat it next year.
