Mother Love

By Lyn Aydelette © 1990

Issue: May, 1990

My mother loved to tat.
She loved fine fabrics -
Their look and feel
Their dainty appeal.
My mother was a gentle lady
With delicate hands and a calm face.
She made home a special place.
She would mail a pretty handkerchief
With her tatted trim
Along with a Birthday Card,
She was always financially slim -
This was her way to say
"I love you, dear daughter."

I think of her every
Mother's Day.
This year I sent my four daughters
Some of her tatted hankies
Among other Christmas gifts.
And I think they know they are
Symbols of Mother Love.
