The Silent Singing

By Steven Curtis Lance © 1985

Issue: December, 1985

From beyond the starlit sky
Comes the silent singing;
Soundless echo from on high,
Through the ages ringing.

Echo of a winter night
When creation listened,
And the Daystar, gleaming bright,
Like a diamond glistened.

Once, aloud in silent field,
Shepherds heard those voices;
Still, in silent hearts revealed,
Still the night rejoices.

From beyond the starlit sky
Comes the silent singing;
Soundless echo from on high,
Through the ages ringing.
