I seat myself to write to you
a wee short note in rhyme.
To remind you that since last we met
has been a long long time
The pressures of our many tasks
weigh heavy on each day.
And leaves less time for friends and such
before it steals away.
But now the spring lies just ahead
the next few weeks and then,
No trails of snow where you can't go
and get back home again.
So if you'll come and sit a spell
let this be your invite.
We'll kick our shoes and share the news
and visit through the night.
